CROWNS/BRIDGES/VENEERS

Crowns & Bridges

At Kuraby Dentists, we make sure cosmetic, durable dental solutions are affordable so everyone who walks through our doors can access high-quality dental treatments. A custom crown or bridge may be your best solution if your teeth are affected by wear, decay, or accidents. Our crowns and bridges are made with custom-matched ceramics to be as durable and aesthetically-pleasing as possible. The team at Kuraby Dentists are here to give you a great smile that doesn’t cost a fortune.

Full Coverage Dental Crowns

A crown covers the entire visible tooth up to the gum line. They preserve teeth with severe structural damage caused by cavities or cracks. If you need to replace a missing tooth with a dental implant, you’ll need a full-coverage crown on top to fill the area visible above the gums.

Bridges For Missing Teeth

If you have one or two missing teeth, a bridge can be attached to healthy supporting teeth on either side of the gap, spanning the width and filling the empty space. Bridges are fixed alternatives to removable devices like partial dentures.

Our Two-Step Treatment

A crown or bridge requires two visits with the team at Kuraby Dentists, roughly two weeks apart from one another.

At the first appointment, we’ll numb and prep the supporting tooth, so there is enough clearance for a fixed restoration to slip over the top comfortably. Then we’ll take an impression of the space and send it to our lab, where your permanent restoration is crafted by hand. While you’re waiting for your crown or bridge, we’ll give you a temporary repair to minimise sensitivity and restore your cosmetic appearance.

About two weeks later, your permanent restoration will be ready for delivery. Your dentist will remove the temporary crown or bridge and permanently bond the fixed prosthesis in place. Crowns or bridges set on top of dental implants are installed on an abutment, which attaches to the implant itself.

What Are Dental Veneers?

A veneer is a thin shell of porcelain shaped in such a way that creates a flawless appearance when bonded over the front of a tooth. Veneers are not a restorative treatment, so the tooth being treated will need to be completely healthy.

Your dentist will place several veneers side by side across the teeth that are visible the most when you’re smiling or laughing. That way, your teeth will appear uniform and create an overall change in your bite instead of correcting a specific tooth. Most people need anywhere from six to ten veneers depending on the width and shape of their smile.

As veneers are a restorative treatment bonded over the front of healthy teeth to change their appearance, they’re ideal for aesthetic concerns such as;
  • Gaps
  • Crowding
  • Discolouration and stains
  • Irregular shape
  • Flaws in the enamel
